Skyhawks fall to Nighthawks in nonconference matchup

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (Sept. 2, 2022) – The Point University women's soccer team traveled to Thomas University Friday morning to face the Nighthawks in a nonconference matchup and fell 7-1.  

The Skyhawks quickly found themselves down 2-0 in the first half. Just two and a half minutes into the second half, Kelly Carlisle, assisted by Lorelei Lewis, scored the only goal of the game for the Skyhawks, making the score 3-1. Point conceded four more goals in the contest.  

Thomas outshot Point 34 to 8. Point had seven shots on frame, with Carlisle recording three shots, all on frame. Erica Burkhardt recorded nine saves in goal.   

Up Next Point hosts Mobile University in the Skyhawks' home opener on Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in River Bowl Stadium.
