Angela Ormsby returns to Point Women’s Golf as the New Head Coach

WEST POINT, Ga. (Jan. 6, 2025) - The Point University Athletic Department has announced the appointment of Angela Ormsby as the new Women's Golf Coach. Ormsby returns to Skyhawk Nation after serving as the Head Coach at Point University from 2015 to 2020. Ormsby returns with a stacked resume after the departure of former Women's Golf Coach, Greg Boling.  

Angela has been involved with golf since a young age and has competed and succeeded at every level of golf, including playing on the LPGA Tour for seven years. She loves making the game fun by helping each golfer be the best version of themselves. She has a fun, vibrant personality that you can probably hear while at the course. Angela is a dedicated mom and wife to fellow golf instructor Todd, and she believes her experiences help her relate to golfers at every level and learn to love the game as she does.

For the Women's Golf team, this is the perfect addition to Coach Ormsby's history, and the Skyhawks looking to make a name for themselves in their second year in the Southern States Athletic Conference. With her stacked resume, Ormsby also was part of the Inaugural Hall of Fame where she helped introduce the first Women's Golf Hall of Famer, Courtney Lowery, in April 2024. Angela Ormsby has expressed her excitement to return to the Skyhawks and how she felt welcomed with open arms at Point University. "I am extremely excited and feel blessed to be a part of the Point University family once again!" Ormsby also mentioned,  "The opportunity to lead the next generation and help them develop on and off the course is a true gift.  God's provision and direction over the last few years have led me back to Point and I look forward to what we can accomplish! Thank you to Dean Collins and Jaunelle White for this amazing opportunity!" The Women's Golf Program looks to bolster their chances to the SSAC Championship and return to the NAIA National Championship with the leadership of Angela Ormsby.
