Point University Women's Basketball Secures Thrilling Victory Over Abraham Baldwin

WEST POINT, Ga. (Feb. 13th, 2025) — In a gripping Southern States Athletic Conference display of skill and determination, the Point University Skyhawks women's basketball team edged out Abraham Baldwin with a nail-biting 67-66 victory. 

From the outset, the Skyhawks were put to the test as Abraham Baldwin surged ahead with a 10-point lead by the end of the first quarter. However, the resilience of the Skyhawks was evident as they steadily caught up, with notable performances from Antonia Pittman who led all scorers with 20 points, and Zaria Johnson, who dominated the boards with 16 rebounds. 
 
The game experienced multiple lead changes, and the Skyhawks had to claw back from a two-point halftime deficit. The third quarter saw Point University heading into the lead, highlighted by a crucial three-pointer from Azarriah Brown and strategic plays that allowed the Skyhawks to extend the margin to a 10-point advantage entering the final quarter. 
 
The climax of the match occurred in the fourth quarter when Sheila Lee crafted a masterful layup at the buzzer, securing a one-point win for Point University.

Antonia Pittman led with 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block. Zaria Johnson followed with a double-double with 16 points, 16 rebounds, one assist, two steals, and three blocks. Jada Williams added 16 points, five rebounds, two steals, and one block.
