
Point University Skyhawks Narrowly Fall to Brewton-Parker Barons in Tense Conference Game
WEST POINT, Ga. (Feb. 6th, 2025) - In a nail-biting encounter, the Point University Skyhawks faced a close defeat against the Brewton-Parker Barons with a final score of 57-46.
Throughout the first three quarters, the intense battle remained a tight score with both teams trading baskets and taking the lead back and forth. The game was tightly contested from the start, with Point University narrowly leading by one point with a halftime score of 28-27. By the fourth quarter, the Barons managed to get enough of a score gap to take the win. Despite showing early promise and resilience, the Skyhawks were ultimately overtaken by the Barons, who secured a victory with a final score of 57-46.

Skyhawks' forward Antonia Pittman showcased an impressive performance scoring a game-high 23 points alongside 8 rebounds and 3 assists, proving her vital role in the team. Also, noteworthy was Zaria Johnson, who not only added 8 points but also dominated defensively with 12 rebounds and an impressive 9 blocks which broke the single-game block record.
Other contributions came from Victoria Roberson and Sheila Lee, who made significant defensive plays. Despite their efforts, it was not enough to hold off their determined opponents.
