
Point University Women's Basketball Suffers Loss Against UT Southern Firehawks
WEST POINT, Ga. (Jan. 23rd, 2025) - The Point University's Women's Basketball team returned to the court in a Southern States Athletic Conference matchup against The University of Tennessee Southern where the Skyhawks fell to the Firehawks with a final score of 64-96.
Point started off strong in the beginning of the first half but the Skyhawks went into halftime trailing with a score of 31-45. Throughout the game, the Firehawks maintained a commanding lead, demonstrating strong offensive and defensive plays which left the Skyhawks struggling to close the gap which ended the game with a final score of 64-96.
In the Box:
Shakira Wilson led with 25 points and five rebounds. Zaria Johnson followed with a double-double with 16 points, 14 rebounds, one assist, and three blocks, and Lanee Edwards added 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
