
Women’s Basketball Takes Win Over Thomas in Home SSAC Play
WEST POINT, Ga. (Dec. 7th, 2024) - The Point University Women's Basketball team returned to the court in a Southern States Athletic Conference matchup against Thomas University where the Skyhawks bested the Night Hawks in a final score of 74-63.
During the first half, both the Skyhawks and Night Hawks were neck to neck fighting to stay in the lead. At the start of the second quarter, the Night Hawks had the lead, but Antonia Pittman made a 3-pointer, tying the score 15-15, followed by another 3-pointer by Shakira Wilson pushing the Skyhawks ahead. Zaria Johnson added strength to the Skyhawks with multiple rebounds and layups during the first half.
The Skyhawks led by 18 points at the end of the third quarter however at the end of the fourth, the Night Hawks started creeping back up. Shakira Wilson held down the fort with two three-pointers, and Victoria Roberson ended the game with a jump shot making the final score 74-63.

Zaria Johnson led with a double-double making 13 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks. Antonia Pittman added 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals and Shakira Wilson followed with 12 points, one rebound, one assist, and three blocks.
