Softball falls on the road in AAC matchup at Bryan College
DAYTON, Tenn. (April 5, 2023) -The Point University softball went on the road on Tuesday to play AAC foe, Bryan College in a doubleheader and would get swept. The Skyhawks would lose game one, 3-2 and game two, 3-1.
Game 1 – 3-2 LOSS
The Skyhawks would get the scoring started in the top of the first when Taylor Knight when she would hit an RBI single that would score Alexus Griffin to make it 1-0. The Lions would get all their runs in the second and third innings, when they would score three runs to take a 3-1 lead over the Skyhawks. Alexus Griffin would ground out to the second baseman, but Brianna Plocharczyk would score to make it 3-2. Mary Michael Burnham and Ashlynn Hamm would combine for six innings allowing three runs on eights hits, walking one and striking out one. The Lions see their started throw a complete game and help secure them the 3-2 victory in game one.

Game 2 – 3-1 LOSS
The Lions would score three runs in the bottom of the third to take an early 3-0 lead. The Skyhawks would get one run back in the top of the fifth when Haley Lyner would hit an RBI single that would score Brianna Plocharczyk to make it 3-1. Katelyn Jiles would throw a complete game in the losing effort. The Lions would get another complete game effort from their starting pitcher as well to hold on for the 3-1 victory.
