Point Men’s Soccer Overcome by the Rams

MOBILE, Ala. (Oct. 19, 2024) - The Point University Men's Soccer team returned to the pitch for a Southern States Athletic Conference match against Mobile. The Skyhawks fell to the Rams with a final score of 6-0. 

Point started the first half with a strong defense, with Simon Niksch as the goalie. The Rams' offense pushed for multiple attempted shots, but Simon Niksch kept the ball out of the goal with four saves. However, Mobile still managed to score two goals in the first half.

The Skyhawks pushed forward offensively in the second half, as Tommy Eskew added the first three shots, leading to a header shot by Christopher Remily and another shot by Gihong Kang. Although Point stepped up offensively, they could not overcome the Rams, with a final score of 6-0. 

In the Box:

Mobile had 26 shots total and 13 on goal, compared to Point, who had five and three on goal. Simon Niksch, in goal, tallied seven saves.
