Men's Soccer claws past the Panthers in Battle of Troup County

WEST POINT, Ga (Sept. 3, 2024) - The Point University Men's soccer team returned to action at the River Bowl for a nonconference in county rivalry vs NCAA DIII Lagrange College where the Skyhawks topped the Panthers with a final score of 2-1.

The Skyhawks jumped on the board first with a solo goal from Gihong Kang in the first half turning the scoreboard on, making it 1-0. Point University was able to hold LaGrange scoreless going into the half.

Within the first fifteen minutes of the second half, Diogo Palhoto added a goal with the assist of Moritz Dalpiaz. Shortly after, the Panthers aimed to gain the same opportunity by taking their own shot and managed to put their name on the board. The Skyhawks ended the match 2-1.

Lagrange took five total shots, four on goal, while Point took 19 shots with 8 on goal. Diogo Palhoto and Gihong Kang both had one goal each. Simon Niksch finished with saves.
