Men’s Soccer drops SSAC matchup to Thomas

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (Oct. 14, 2023) - The Point University Men's Soccer team returned to the pitch for a Saturday afternoon Southern States Athletic Conference road matchup against RV Thomas University, where the Skyhawks fell 4-1.

The first half started with Thomas getting into the driver's seat by attempting multiple headers to take the early lead but would be unsuccessful. The Skyhawks looked to get their evening going as Tommy Eskew the first shot for Point but would be blocked. Both opponents could not hold the momentum as the teams went into the half scoreless.

The Nighthawks came into the second half with intentions to wipe away their scoreless first half, which paid dividends when Thomas scored within the first few minutes. The Skyhawks saw their deficit to 2-0 as Thomas scored their goal, but Tommy Eskew struck back with his own goal to bring the score 2-1. Point looked to even the score, but Thomas' late surge of scoring the following two goals put the Nighthawks ahead 4-1 to take the win over Point.
