Point University Skyhawks Secure Win Against Montreat Cavaliers

MONTREAT, N.C. (April 1st, 2025) - In a thrilling collegiate lacrosse conference game, the Point University Skyhawks emerged victorious over the Montreat Cavaliers with a final score of 14-9. The game, held in Montreat, N.C., saw the Skyhawks rebound from a halftime deficit of 5-6 to clinch a decisive win.  
 
Rodney Oakley and Thomas Van Alstine were standout performers for Point University, each netting five goals in this high-scoring affair. Malyke Sillers added another three goals, with Shaun McLaughlin contributing one but more notably providing four crucial assists. Oakley not only shared in assisting duties but also scored the game-winning goal, highlighting his pivotal role in this match. 
 
The Skyhawks showcased a significant offensive depth, which, paired with robust defensive effort, paved their way to overcoming the early lead by the Cavaliers. Noteworthy was the team's explosive performance in the third quarter, which turned the tide in their favor. 
 
Aaron Robinson took the reins as the goalie for the Skyhawks, playing a key role in thwarting the Cavaliers' attempts to regain their earlier advantage.
