
Point Lacrosse Falls to SCAD in a Closely Battled Match
WEST POINT, Ga. (March 1st, 2025) - In a closely contested conference lacrosse game, the Point University Skyhawks fell just short against the SCAD Savannah Bees. After a balanced first half ending in a 4-4 tie, the game concluded with the Bees edging out the Skyhawks 13-10.
Thomas Van Alstine was the standout performer for Point University, impressively netting five goals. Teammates Rodney Oakley added three goals while Malyke Sillers and Shaun McLaughlin each contributed one. McLaughlin also led in assists, providing two, alongside Mitchell Gossett who added one. In the goal, Aaron Robinson showcased his skills throughout the game, defending the Skyhawks' net with determination.
The game also marked Senior Day for Point University, honoring the contribution and spirit of several team members including Malyke Sillers, Mitchell Gossett, Kemorion Larkin, Jarrod Posey, and Thomas Van Alstine. Despite the challenging loss, the Skyhawks displayed formidable teamwork and skill, promising a strong continuation in the season.

Thomas Van Alstine led with five goals and Rodney Oakley followed with three goals along with five groundballs and seven face-off wins. Malyke Sillers added one goal and two groundballs while Shaun McLaughlin added one goal. Aaron Robinson, in goal, had 16 saves.
