Men’s Lacrosse falls to #3 Webber International in regular season home finale

WEST POINT, Ga. (Apr. 6, 2024) - The Point University Men's Lacrosse Team returned to the field for their regular season home finale against #3 Webber International University in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup where the Skyhawks fell to the Warriors with a final score of 15-4. 

The Warriors opened the scoring column with their first goal in the first 58 seconds to lead 1-0. The Skyhawks quickly responded with Jeff Knapp powering through the defense to tie the game at 1-1. Webber followed with four consecutive goals to bring their lead to 5-1. Point continued to get settled into their offense as Aaron Mordarski connected with Shaun McLaughlin for their second goal. Webber ended the first quarter with a 6-2 lead. Jeff Knapp trimmed their deficit to three as he scored the first goal of the second period to trail 6-3. The Warriors were able to hold the Skyhawks to only one goal while adding four goals to lead 10-3 at the half. The second half opened with the Warriors holding their lead with two goals in the third period. Thomas Van Alstine was able to add the fourth and final goal for Point. In the fourth period, Webber shut down the Skyhawks and finished the game with three more scores to win 15-4. 

In the Box 

Jeff Knapp led with two goals, five groundballs, and seven faceoff wins. Shaun McLaughlin and Thomas Van Alstine added one goal each. In Goal, Teagan Simons added 15 saves.

The Skyhawks will return to the field for an AAC Matchup on the road against #1 Reinhardt University starting at 2:00 P.M.
