
Point University Faces Tough Challenge in Close SSAC Loss to Middle Georgia State
WEST POINT, Ga. (Feb. 15, 2025)- In a closely contested Southern States Athletic Conference basketball contest the Point University Skyhawks fought valiantly but fell short by a narrow margin to the Middle Georgia State Knights, with a final score of 67-64.
The game started with Middle Georgia State taking an early lead, but the Skyhawks were quick to respond, showcasing sharp shooting from beyond the arc. Vince Graves and Jeremiah Smith led the charge for Point in the first half. The first period ended with Point holding a slight edge at 35-33, driven by crucial three-pointers and efficient playmaking. However, the second half saw Middle Georgia State ramp up their offensive and defensive play. Mike Evans and Ricardo Luis Ortiz showed very determined efforts carrying the Skyhawks offensively in the second half. Unable to overcome the hump the Knights secured a 67-64 victory.
