Point University Skyhawks Fall to Faulkner Eagles in SSAC Basketball Clash

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Jan. 30, 2025) - In a Southern States Athletic Conference game held at Tine Davis Gymnasium, the Point University Men's basketball team faced a conference rival in the Faulkner Eagles, ultimately falling 71-83. 

The game started competitively, with Point leading by a narrow margin of 4 points at one stage in the first half. Tanner Higgins was at the helm, leading the team in first-half points. However, the Eagles managed to pull ahead by halftime, leading the Skyhawks 33-31. Mike Evans started to turn on the heat to gain control of the game accumulating 19 second half points. As the game progressed, Faulkner strengthened their lead, eventually securing a significant 18-point advantage late in the second half, which culminated in their victory.  

In the Box 

Mike Evans led the scoring for the Skyhawks with a remarkable 25 points, along with 7 rebounds and a steal. Sam Rees and Tanner Higgins both added to the scoring column with 11 points.
