Point Men’s Basketball OutHawks Thomas in Home SSAC Play

WEST POINT, Ga. (Dec. 7th, 2024) - The Point University Men's basketball team returned to the court for a Southern States Athletic Conference matchup against Thomas University that ended with the Night Hawks falling to the Skyhawks with a final score of 73-68. 

The start of the game began slowly for Point, until Mike Evans made a steal allowing him to make a layup that kickstarted the Skyhawk's energy. The Night Hawks kept the lead throughout the first half, but both teams kept an intense competition and an even tighter score. 

The second half started hot at 38-37 and both competitors continued scoring back-to-back in a heated battle. Within the first five minutes of the last half, Vince Graves made a layup that secured the Skyhawk's lead for the rest of the game. Antwon Ferrell made continuous plays that held the security of Point's success with 14 points during the second half. After a fierce game, the Night Hawks fell to the Skyhawks with a tight score of 73-68.

Antwon Ferrell led with 21 points, four rebounds, one assist, and three steals. Tanner Higgins added 15 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block, and Mike Evans followed with 12 points, five rebounds, one assist, and four steals.
