Men’s Basketball falls to Middle Georgia in road SSAC Play
COCHRAN, Ga. (Nov. 23, 2024) - The Point University Men's Basketball Team returned to the court for a Southern States Athletic Conference matchup against Middle Georgia State University where the Skyhawks fell to the Knights with a final score of 78-70.
The Skyhawks opened the first half with Vince Graves and Mike Evans adding the first two three-pointers of the game. Point continued to hold their early lead with Antwon Ferrell converting on the and-one layup to lead 11-7. The Knights were able to return the favor by halting the run from Point which helped Middle Georgia gain the lead. Tanner Higgins responded with a three-pointer followed by two free throws from Antwon Ferrell to lead 21-17. The Skyhawks continued to hold their lead with a three-pointer from O'Brien Watkins. The Knights followed with two three-pointers and a layup to go into the half leading 37-35.
Mike Evans opened the second half with a three-pointer and a jump shot to put the Skyhawks ahead by one. Middle Georgia continued to match the intensity with trading baskets which was enough to regain the lead. The Knights continued with a 6-0 run before the Skyhawks responded with a dunk from Brandon Kincaid. The Knights continued to hold their lead with a layup but Point cut the Knights lead to four with Antown Ferrell and Brandon Kincaid adding two consecutive scores in the paint. Middle Georgia used a late run to halt the late comeback from the Skyhawks and win 78-70.

Antwon Ferrell led with 22 Points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Mike Evans added 18 Points, seven rebounds and two assists. Vince Graves contributed with 11 points, eight rebounds, and one blocked shot.
