
Skyhawks Take on Warner Royals in Conference Clash
WEST POINT, Ga. (April 4, 2025) - In a challenging conference showdown, the Point University Flag Football Team faced off against the Warner Royals. Despite a spirited effort, the Skyhawks fell to the Royals with a final score of 45-20.
The first quarter began with tough competition as Corriah Williams passed to Maddie Motz, completing the first touchdown for the Skyhawks as well as a completed conversion from Maddie Motz. Warner replicated this energy by making themselves a touchdown as well as a conversion, making the score 7-7.
Although the game started with tight competition, the Royals continued making crucial plays that left the Skyhawks unable to catch up, with the halftime scoreboard reading Warner 20, Point University 7. Despite the deficit, Point University pushed forward, showcasing notable performances in their offense. Christian Wright also made impressive plays, adding 33 passing yards and two touchdowns to the Skyhawks' tally, which showcased Kenzie Phillian and Maddy Motz's drive to close the gap. Nyleigha Knighton, following this energy, added a point conversion from a 1-yard rush.
