
Cortez Thomas charges his way as an NAIA All-American
WEST POINT, Ga. (Dec. 11, 2024)—The NAIA has officially announced the football All-American Teams through the AFCA. Junior Defensive Lineman Cortez Thomas made the NAIA All-American Third Team, continuing Point Football's five-year streak of All-Americans each year.
The Junior from Cordele, Georgia showcased much versatility on the field as the defensive end who was ready to prove that he was the guy to have on scouting reports. Thomas finished with 51 total tackles (36 solo and 15 assisted), adding 10.0 sacks, 25.0 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and two pass breakups. The combination of strength and speed for Cortez Thomas gave opposing offensive linemen long days. Thomas had his sights set on making a stronger impact on the defense which displayed as his numbers jumped across the while improving his sack and tackle-for-loss total. Cortez Thomas is all laughs off the field and a student-athlete many like to be around but on the gridiron, he proves to be the best athlete. For Cortez Thomas, his resume includes multiple players of the week honors, two-time first-team All-Conference Player, and a new accolade of the 2024 NAIA Coaches' All-American-Third Team.
