Ethan Binns tackles his way to an AAC Defensive Player of the Week Honor

WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 19, 2024) - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced Player of the Week awards, featuring the Skyhawks in AAC Defensive Player of the Week award honors. Ethan Binns was named the Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the AAC Matchup at Bluefield University. 

The Junior from Montgomery, Alabama has been a true workhorse through his three years at Point University. Binns has always been a player who is well-respected by his peers because he comes ready to work each day and gives 100% effort on every snap. Binns led with 12 tackles and one tackle for loss. During the season, Binns led the team with 98 tackles, a big jump from his sophomore year, when he had 55 tackles. Binns also adds seven tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup. Ethan Binns, who already has a Second Team All-Conference honor, could see himself boosted as a first-team All-conference nod with the stellar season that he had. To add to his resume, he can now hoist an AAC Defensive Player of the Week award to prove his case on the great season that he had. This is his first weekly honor of the season and his first career weekly honor.
