Quan Neal and Emery Bryant named AAC Football Player of the Week

WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 14, 2022) - Two Players from the Point University football team have earned Appalachian Athletic Conference Football player of the week honors for the third time this season. Quan Neal was named AAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, and Emery Bryant was named AAC Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 12. 

Neal recorded seven total tackles, one interception, and a pass breakup to help lead the Skyhawks’ defense to a 27-16 win over St. Andrews University on Saturday, Nov. 12. The senior out of Cedartown, Ga. has tallied four interceptions on the season and is now third all-time for total interceptions in a season. This is his second weekly honor. 

Emery Bryant was named the AAC Special Teams Player of the week for his contributions in the 27-16 win over the Knights. Bryant returned an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to help the Skyhawks take a two-touchdown lead over the Knights, which also resulted in Point sealing the win. Bryant has been a key player on the offensive end, along with being feared as a return specialist throughout the year.

This honor for Point football marks the third time this season that two players have been AAC Football player of the Week within the same week span.
