Skyhawks Baseball Lose Series Against Faulkner Eagles in Tough Conference Play

WEST POINT, GA (March 28-29, 2025) In a challenging Southern States Athletic Conference showdown, the Point University Skyhawks faced off against the Faulkner (AL) Eagles and only took one of three despite strong individual performances at home in West Point, Ga., on March 28 & 29. 

Game 1 (Win 3-2) 
The game kept fans on the edge of their seats as the Skyhawks' offense was led by Brady Bye and Arwin Burgos, who were responsible for scoring the runs. Arwin Burgos also shined with a crucial RBI alongside Keegan Moore, who contributed two RBIs, helping seal the team's win. Starting pitcher Dylan Davis turned in a commendable performance on the mound, laying a strong foundation for the team's defensive play. 
 
Game 2 (Loss 18-7, 8 innings) 
Point University's starting pitcher, Harris Burns, took the mound in hopes of curbing the offensive prowess of the Eagles. Despite his efforts and the best attempts by his teammates, the Skyhawks struggled to keep pace with Faulkner's relentless attacks. Key players for Point included Michael Buckley, Danny Gonzalez, Zavion Anderson, and Brady Bye, who all crossed home plate, contributing to Point's seven-run tally. Zavion Anderson notably scored twice. 
 
Danny Gonzalez, Rafael Jackson, Brady Bye, Holden Hunter and Arwin Burgos drove in runs for the Skyhawks, attempting to close the gap created by the Eagles' early lead.  
 

Game 3 (loss 15-3, 7 innings) 
Game three saw the Skyhawks putting forward some offensive effort in the first three innings. Danny Gonzalez and Arwin Burgos each contributed runs, with Gonzalez showcasing his consistency on the bases. Additionally, Brady Bye and Jayson Dower provided RBIs, demonstrating Point's strategic attempts to overcome Faulkner's lead. Keegan Moore hit a home run, adding vital runs and a RBI to his team's scoreline.  

Up Next 

The Skyhawks Baseball team will take on the Talladega College Tornadoes in a mid-week double header. The games will take place Tuesday April 2 at 3pm in Alabama.
