Skyhawks Extinguish the Firehawks in Conference Series Sweep  

 

WEST POINT, Ga. (March 13-14, 2025) In a gripping conference baseball duel, the Point University Skyhawks surged to victory over the Tennessee Southern Firehawks, securing the series win in West Point, Ga.  
 

Game 1 (win 7-5) 
Point University took the lead early in the encounter, capitalizing on a wild pitch by Tennessee Southern in the 1st inning for the game's opening run. The Skyhawks then amplified their offensive output in the 3rd inning. Chris Mancill delivered excitement, sending a homerun sailing, while Rafael Jackson followed up with a critical double. Their robust pitching was supported by starter Maxime Beaulieu, who managed the game effectively from the mound. 
 
Danny Gonzalez showed perfect form at the plate, hitting 4-for-4, including a double and adding three runs to Point's total. Rafael Jackson was invaluable, contributing 3 RBIs and going 2-for-4, thereby significantly impacting the scoreboard. The 5th inning saw further action as Point pushed their advantage with timely hits from Danny Gonzalez and Rafael Jackson.  

 

Game 2 (win 10-2) 

From the starting pitch, Dylan Davis set the tone for the Skyhawks, delivering an impeccable performance that kept the Firehawks at bay. On the offensive front, multiple players contributed to the impressive final score. Michael Buckley and Zavion Anderson led with multiple runs, with Buckley also topping the RBI chart by driving in three runs. Arwin Burgos, Brett Campbell, Rafael Jackson, Sam Baker, Keegan Moore, and Jaden Mazzaferro also made substantial contributions to ensure a robust scoreboard.  

 

Game 3 (win 9-4) 

Point University's lineup showed considerable strength, particularly in the sixth inning, where they scored 5 crucial runs to secure the lead. Key players such as Danny Gonzalez, Rafael Jackson, and Zavion Anderson were instrumental in building the winning momentum, with Danny Gonzalez and Arwin Burgos each adding 2 runs apiece to the scoreboard. Harris Burns, the starting pitcher, also played a critical role in maintaining control over the game dynamics, setting the stage for the team's hitters to capitalize.
