Point Baseball drops evening matchup to Thomas in the SSAC Tournament

JACKSON, Tenn. (May 2, 2024) - The Point University Baseball Team returned to the field for their second game in Pool Play against the #7 Seeded Thomas University where the Skyhawks fell to the Nighthawks with a final score of 5-3. 

The action picked up with the Nighthawks adding a double to left center which was enough to advance a runner home for the first run. The Skyhawks followed with Rafael Jackson adding a double to left center for a base hit. Silas Bulter singled up the middle to advance Jackson home to tie the game at 1-1. Point took the lead with Sam Baker's RBI single to left field and Daniel Gonzalez's single to center field for a two-run lead. Thomas responded with three runs to regain the lead in the top of the fourth inning. Point looked to respond with extra runs but the Nighthawks held Point to four hits in the next five innings to end the game with a final score of 5-3.

The Baseball Team will return to the field for their final game of Pool Play at the SSAC Tournament against William Carey on Friday, May 3rd at 7:00 P.M. Central Time in Jackson, Tennessee.
