Point University goes Back-to-Back on being named a Champions of Character Five-Star Gold Institution
WEST POINT, Ga. (July 31, 2024)- Point University has continued excellence once more as the Institution was named a Champions of Character Five-Star Gold Institution for the second year in a row for the 2023-24 year.
209 schools earned the award with Point University being a top scorer with 108 other institutions. To be considered, an institution is measured on a commitment to Champions of Character and earning points through training, conduct in competition, recognition, and how the characters are promoted. The student-athlete grade point averages also factor into this scoring and the conduct of no ejections from an event plays a role. Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Chief Student Development Officer, Jaunelle White preaches to her staff, student-athletes, and peers how the school can set the right example by continuing excellence. Her words ring around the University and being recognized nationally shows that it is not just a slogan, but a lifestyle. Jaunelle White’s leadership has revealed that she wants the best for the University and is super proud of the buy-in. “I am incredibly proud of our student-athletes and coaches. We will continue to make excellence a habit and live out the mission of our great University. It truly is a great time to be a Skyhawk!”. The optimism for this honor comes with accountability and consistency as the example has to move forward into the 2024-25 year.
