No. 24 Men's Soccer Drops Road Game Against Point

West Point, Ga.- The No. 24 ranked men's soccer team went on the road for an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) on Wednesday. The team faced the Point University Skyhawks.

The first goal of the game came in the first ten minutes of the contest. A series of shots saw Lewis Menga knock in the rebound of his first shot attempt, giving the Bulldogs an early 1-0 lead. Twenty-one minutes later, another goal was recorded. This time though, it was recorded by the Skyhawks, sending the game into a 1-1 tie at halftime.

Five minutes into the second half, Keegan Hegarty's shot at the net was saved by the opposing goalkeeper. Wynand Wessels saw his shot fly high of the goal a few minutes later as the team tried to break the tie. In the 67th minute, the tie was broken by Point, pushing them ahead 2-1. A corner kick by Billy Boag along with shots by Cian Gantley, Tyriq Gordon, and Menga did not produce a tying goal for the team as the opponents took the contest by a final score of 2-1. This marks the team's first loss of the season.

TWU (2-1-4) will return home for their next game on Saturday. The team will host No. 25 University of Rio Grande in their final non-conference game of the season at 1:00 p.m.
