TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The Florida College Men's Soccer team suffered a narrow defeat to the Point University Skyhawks 1-0.
The Falcons were back on home field hoping to get back to winning ways against the Skyhawks. This desire to win would produce an action packed first half with nine shots between the two teams. Even after the first 20 minutes where eight of the nine shots occurred, the last 25 saw one shot, ten fouls, and two yellow cards to close out the first 45 in a 0-0 draw.
The second half began with a more calculated and controlled approach for both teams. However, despite this control the second half was still an action packed half, featuring twelve fouls, seven corners, and six shots. Despite all the action, it felt like this was fated to end in a hard-fought draw, but the Skyhawks' Gihong Kang had other ideas and in the 72nd minute scored to put Point up 1-0. The Falcons pushed hard all the way to the final whistle but were unable to make a comeback and fell 1-0 to the 5-0-1 Point Skyhawks.
