Bio

Taylor Hassell was named Assistant Athletic Director in the summer of 2022. In the fall of 2021, Hassell was named the department's Senior Woman Leader, where she oversees the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serves on the athletics senior support team, and is the secondary administrator to many athletic teams.

Hassell joined the Point University Athletic Department in 2019 as Director of Compliance. As Director of Compliance, Hassell managed all 19 athletic teams’ NAIA eligibility and compliance, facilitating program support functions for efficient operations and overseeing game day facility operations. 

Hassell is an active member of Women Leaders in College Sports and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. She is a graduate of the Women’s Leadership Symposium. This program aims to enrich participants’ skills, expand their professional network and promote the recruitment and retention of women working in intercollegiate athletics administration and beyond. Next, Hassell will join the Women Leaders Institute for Advancement, a premier "level one" leadership development program to elevate performance and advancement within the industry.

Hassell graduated from Berry College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology. She then completed her Master's of Science in Kinesiology-Biomechanics from Auburn University in 2016 while adding a minor in Sport Management.

During her undergraduate years at Berry College, Hassell participated with the Women’s Basketball team and worked under the Associate Director of Athletics in which she oversaw day-to-day operations of the athletic and recreation facility, managed the preparation for events within the facility, coordinated student-worker scheduling, and assisted with external communication and planning staff.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree at Berry College, Hassell served as a Graduate Assistant for Athletics at Auburn University while also completing her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology-Biomechanics. Along with her facility operations responsibilities for football and basketball, Hassell worked closely with Auburn University’s sports biomechanics research labs to better understand injury prevention and performance enhancement in student-athletes.

In her spare time, Hassell enjoys playing golf, spending time with friends and family, attending sporting events, and spoiling her fur-child, Cooper. Hassell is married to Rusty Hassell, who is Point University's Chief Enrollment Officer.
