Potential Questions Athletes May Have

Q1: Does the day off have to be consistent week-to-week, or can it fluctuate?

A: At Point University, coaches will determine the day off for their team and will provide the department with a list of the days off for their team.

Q2: How would this apply to dual sport athletes? What if the teams’ days off do not align?

A: Dual-sport athletes will follow the 7-day period for the sport that is in its championship season. In the event the seasons overlap, the Student-Athlete will follow the 7-day period of the current sport until its championship ends or the season is deemed complete, whichever comes first.

Q3: What do I do if I have questions about the institution’s day off policy or think that a coach has violated the policy?

A: If you have any questions regarding this policy or believe that a coach has violated this policy, please contact Austin Esch, Nicci Wooley, or your Team’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member.
