Paige Lowe and Jordan Palmer earn SSAC Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

WEST POINT, Ga. (Oct. 30, 2023) - The Southern States Athletic Conference announced SSAC Volleyball Player of the Week where Paige Lowe won Southern States Athletic Conference Setter of the Week and Jordan Palmer won SSAC Defender of the Week.

For Paige Lowe, she is continuing to make a case for being one of the best setters to come through Point University as this is her second year where Lowe has won Setter of the Week twice in one season. The Sophomore from Columbus, Georgia averaged 12.00 assists per set and averaged 3.3 digs per set in the match against Faulkner University where the Skyhawks won in a sweep. Paige Lowe started the season by surpassing 1,000 career assists. She currently sits at 602 total assists on the season with a total of 1,521 career assists which is the second most in school history. As Point looks to finish their regular season play against Life University on Thursday, November 2nd, Lowe looks to potentially wrap up another all-conference season with how her impact on the court has been. This is her second weekly honor of the season.

The Lone senior, Jordan Palmer came into the season with high hopes of helping the Skyhawks on the defensive end in the new conference. Palmer's impact and leadership have helped her be well respected within the program of Point Volleyball along with the institution of Point University. Coming into the 2023-24 season, Palmer was 245 career digs away from 1,000. Although it was not her main focus throughout the season, she did have hopes of surpassing 1,000 at a home game. Coming into Friday's match against Faulkner University, Palmer was 14 digs away from the ultimate goal. Going into set three, Palmer was one dig away where she instantly surpassed the milestone and now sits at #4 all-time for career digs. Palmer is currently two digs away from moving to #3 on the list. Jordan Palmer could potentially be a player getting more accolades as far as postseason honors as now this is another season of being recognized for Defender of the Week. This is her first weekly honor of the season.
