Women’s Soccer falls to Talladega in a nonconference matchup
TALLADEGA, Ala. (Oct. 17, 2023) - The Point University Women's Soccer team returned to the pitch to face Talladega College, where the Skyhawks fell to the Tornadoes 2-0.
The first half started with the Skyhawks taking early shots on goal but would be unsuccessful. Talladega took the lead over the Skyhawks as the Tornadoes scored the first goal. Point looked to respond to tie the game, but the Skyhawks would not be able to achieve as both teams went into the half with the Tornadoes leading 1-0.
Talladega started the second half by scoring their second goal, where the Tornadoes extended their lead 2-0. The Skyhawks continued to find ways to get back into the matchup, but Talladega continued to hold their momentum. As the half came to a close, Point would fall to the Tornadoes with a final score of 2-0.
In the Box
Point took nine total shots with six on goal compared to Talladega's 13 shots with six on goal. Marina Queiroz, Hannah Delp, and Chiara Zaccagnino each took a shot on goal. Kelly Rowland finished with four saves as the goalkeeper.
