Several personal records fall for distance track at Annual Alice Coachman Invitational

ALBANY, Ga. (April 10, 2022) – The Point University men's and women's distance track teams competed in the Annual Alice Coachman Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Women's side

In the 100 meters, Chazmere Anderson finished in 29th with a time of 13.97. Anderson set a personal record and was .2 milliseconds away from qualifying for the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament. Anderson also competed in the 200, finishing in 30th with a time of 29.82.

In the 800, Esperanza Aguilar finished in 22nd with a time of 3:00.23.

Men's side

In the 100 meter on the men's side, Christian Hodgins recorded a personal record, finishing in 67th with a time of 12.15. AJ Rathbun also competed in the 100, finishing in 68th with a time of 12:42.

In the 200, Javien Leeks finished in 28th with a time of 23.49, Hodgins finished in 46th with a time of 25.25 and Jacob Copeland finished in 47th with a time of 25.39.

In the 400, Leeks set a personal record, finishing in 16th with a time of 51.90. Copeland finished in 36th with a time of 56.46.

In the 800, Austin Hemphill finished in 23rd with a time of 2:15.68.

Elijah Pace earned Point's highest finish of the day, as he finished fifth in the 5k with a time of 16:45.49. His finish earned the Skyhawks six points, placing them in 13th out of 15 teams.

Up next

Point will be back in action next weekend, April 15-16, as the Catamount Classic, hosted by Western Carolina University. Following next week's event, Point will begin to prepare for the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships.
