Distance track competes in Victor Ice Breaker Duals

ROME, Ga. (March 5, 2022) – The Point University distance track program competed in the Victor Ice Breaker Duals, hosted by Berry College Saturday afternoon.

AJ Rathbun highlighted Point's day as he became the first sprinter in program history to compete for the Skyhawks, as he competed in the 100-meter dash and finished in 31st with a time of 12. 63.

Elijah Pace and Micah Burdette competed in the 5k and finished in 31st and 35th place, respectively. Pace finished in 16:59.17, and Burdette's ending time was 17:28.37. Austin Hemphill competed in the 1500 and finished in 55th with a time of 4:49.39.

Hayley Akbari competed on the women's side in the 800 and earned a 38th place finish with a time of 3:14.57.

Up next, Point will be back in action in two weeks, as they compete in the Tiger Track Classic, hosted by Auburn University March 18-19.
