Beam breaks school record to highlight Point at Bulldog Open

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Feb. 12, 2022) – Joshua Beam broke the Point University men's distance track school record in the 3,000 Saturday night to highlight Point's trip to the Bulldog Open hosted by Samford University.

Beam broke the record by over 34 seconds with a time of 9:01.08. The record was previously held by Tyler Agan, who set it back in 2019.

Beam, Micah Burdette and Elijah Pace competed in the men's 3,000, with Beam coming in 13th, Burdette finishing in 31st with a time of 9:49.02 and Pace finishing in 32nd with a time of 9:49.05.

The Skyhawks will be back in action on Saturday, March 5, competing in the Victor Ice Breaker Duals in Rome, Georgia.
