Swim breaks several school records at AAC Championships
KINGSPORT, Tenn. (Feb. 12, 2022) – The Point University men's and women's swim teams competed in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships Thursday through Saturday at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in the HMG Competition Pool.
The men's team finished fourth out of five teams and the women's team finished in seventh place. Milligan University won on both the men's and women's sides.
School records that fell:
- Men's 200 medley – Josiah Blair, William Kelley, Jaxon Kite, Xavier Philips (1:38.03)
- Men's 200 free – Xavier Philips (1:48.57)
- Men's 400 medley – Josiah Blair, William Kelley, Jaxon Kite, Xavier Philips (3:43.96)
- 100 free – Xavier Philips (47.70)
- Men's 400 free – Jaxon Kite, Josiah Blair, Rayden Hector, Xavier Philips (3:16.72)
Strong finishes:
- Taylor Sturgis recorded a PR in the 100 free (1:03.28)
- Nica Pretorius dropped 48 seconds for a fifth-place finish in the women's 1650 free (21:14.90)
- Connor Cochran finished fifth in the men's 1650 (17:18.38)
