Skyhawks fly past Johnson

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 9, 2021) – The Point University men's soccer team blanked Appalachian Athletic Conference newcomers Johnson University in a dominating 9-0 decision Saturday afternoon.

Five different Skyhawks scored a goal off 52 shots, 25 being on frame. Lorenzo Delvecchio got the scoring started with a goal three minutes into the match with an assist from Pablo Sanz Diez. Sophomore Jeronimo Leguizamon added another goal, six minutes later, assisted by Facundo Palacio. In the 16th minute, Sanz connected with Palacio for the Skyhawks' third goal of the day. Leguizamon scored two more goals in the half, Ethan Aler earned the assist on Leguizamon's second goal, and Delvecchio was credited with the assist on Leguizamon's third goal. Guus Wolters finished Point's first half offensive attack, with Francisco Pacheco taking credit for the assist. Point entered the break leading 6-0.

In the second half, Leguizamon added two more goals in the 48th minute and 56th minute, with Sanz collecting his third assist of the day on Leguizamon's first goal of the half. Andres Perez scored Point's last goal in the 84th minute, assisted by Fabian Saborio.

Leguizamon set a new school record on Saturday with the most goals scored in a match.
