Bio

Jordan Coates is entering his fourth year as head coach of the Point University men's lacrosse team.

Coates helped the Skyhawks rally three wins in the 2022-23 season, marking his first three wins at Point University in the Jordan Coates era. This also tallied the first win for Men's Lacrosse since February 20, 2020. Coates also coached four players who broke school records during the 2022-23 season, including most saves, most minutes, single-season goals, points, ground balls, faceoff wins, and caused turnovers.

Coates is a native of Perry Hall, Maryland, and comes most recently from Monmouth College, where he served as an assistant coach for two seasons. While at Monmouth, Coates helped lead the program to a 6-3 record last season and a 4-2 record in 2020.             

Coates attended Shorter University and was a men's lacrosse program member as a midfielder. Coates led the team his junior year in goals (22), assists (6), and points (28) and earned Great Lake Valley Conference All-Conference recognition that season. Coates graduated from Shorter in 2018 with degrees in history and political science. Coates also received hos master's in management from Shorter in 2021.
