Men's lacrosse drops contest to No. 6 Reinhardt

WALESKA, Ga. (March 25, 2022) - The Point University men's lacrosse team traveled to No. 6 Reinhardt University Friday night for an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup and fell to the Eagles 36-2. 

Point scored the first goal of the night, as Malyke Sillers connected with the back of the net, just thirty seconds into the game. The Eagles quickly answered with two goals, connecting for their second goal with 13:50 remaining in the quarter. Neither team would be able to score for the rest of the quarter and Reinhardt entered the second quarter leading 2-1.

The Eagles opened the second frame with three goals before Sillers scored his second goal of the game with 12:15 remaining, reducing Reinhardt's lead to three goals (5-2). This was all the scoring Reinhardt would allow, as the Eagles scored 14 unanswered goals in the remainder of the second quarter and went into the second half leading 19-2. In the second half, Reinhardt's offense did not let up as the Eagles scored 12 goals in the third quarter and five in the fourth.  

Sillers connected for both of Point's goals and took 12 of the Skyhawks' 13 shots. 

Point (0-10, 0-6 AAC) returns to action when they host Shorter University on Thursday, March 31 at 5 p.m. inside River Bowl Stadium.
