Men’s lacrosse drops contest at LaGrange

LAGRANGE, Ga. (March 17, 2022) – The Point University men's lacrosse team traveled down the road to face LaGrange College Wednesday evening and fell to the Panthers 29-5.

LaGrange jumped out to a commanding 17-1 lead at the end of the first half. Jassiem Josse got the Skyhawks on the board with 11:36 left in the half.

In the third quarter, LaGrange scored four goals to open the half before Malyke Sillers scored for the Skyhawks, making the score 21-2. In the final frame, three different Skyhawks found the back of the net, while the Panthers added six more goals. Cam Simmons scored his second goal of the season and was followed by Jeremiah Menzies and Josse.

LaGrange outshot Point 58-27. Sillers led Point in shot attempts with 10, six on goal. Menzies and Josse recorded seven shots apiece, with four on frame for Menzies and six on frame for Josse. Simmons and Wesley Jones Jr. recorded four ground balls each. In goal, Kiereek McLeod recorded 10 saves.

Next, Point competes in its final game inside River Bowl Stadium on Saturday, March 19, as they host Shorter at 4 p.m.
