Men’s lacrosse drops AAC opener to Bulldogs

ATHENS, Tenn. (Feb. 5, 2022) – The Point University men's lacrosse team traveled to Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday to open Appalachian Athletic Conference play and fell to the Bulldogs 22-3.

The Bulldogs opened Saturday's contest with eight goals and kept the Skyhawks off the scoreboard for the first period. In the second period, senior Jassiem Josse scored back-to-back goals to get Point on the board, but the Bulldogs scored six goals in the second period to enter halftime leading 14-2.

The Bulldogs came out of the half and added five more goals in the third quarter, limiting Point again to none. In the fourth quarter, TWU added on three goals, and Josse scored the last goal of the game with 5:35 remaining.

Josse scored all three goals for Point, taking seven shots with six on goal and recorded seven groundballs. Malyke Sillers took five shots. In goal, Kiereek McLeod had 10 saves.

Up next, Point hosts St. Andrews inside River Bowl Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 12. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
