Cole Stevens named as a NAIA PING First Team All-American

MESA, Az. (May 19, 2023) - The 2023 NAIA PING First Team All-Americans were announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America following the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship. Cole Stevens was one of the names that made the list after his strong season for the Men’s Golf program. This award gives Stevens his third All-American honor in his collegiate career.

Cole Stevens has been phenomenal on the golf course each time he has appeared and is well respected by his peers throughout the golf program, along with the Appalachian Athletic Conference. After placing first in the Kinderlou Spring Invite, the Junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, earned AAC Player of the Week on February 27. Stevens continued to show his reign of terror as he placed first in the Eagle Spring Invite, which served as the last tournament before the AAC Tournament. Cole Stevens followed his performance from the Reinhardt Spring Invite by adding a T2 finish at the AAC Championships and being named the AAC Player of the Year along with First Team All-Conference. Continuing into Nationals, Stevens had momentum as he looked to prove why he was one of the best golfers in the Nation. In the first round, Stevens finished with a score of 81, but a switch would flip for Round two. Stevens returned with a vengeance in the second round as he posted a score of 67, which was the best individual score out of each individual at the NAIA National Championships for Round Two. Cole Stevens finished 11th place at the National Championships as the Men’s Golf finished with a T11 overall. Throughout his resume as a Junior, Stevens now adds his third All-American honor in his career.
