NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship Day Three: Porter remains No. 1 overall; Skyhawks drop to fourth

SILVIS, Ill. (May 19, 2022) – Jaden Saunders started Thursday morning with a hole-out eagle, and Brendan Porter remains No. 1 in the field of individuals to highlight the No.10/11 Point University men's golf team's third-round performance at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship.

Saunders jumped 15 positions and is currently tied in 22nd after shooting 1-under for the day. The freshman has a three-round score of 214.

Porter was 1-over on the day and is 12-under overall. The sophomore holds the individual lead by two strokes and has a three-round score of 201.

Cole Stevens was 2-over on the day and is tied in 46th. The sophomore is 6-over and has a three-round score of 219.

Trevor Poole is tied in 75th after carding an 80. The junior is 13-over and has a three-round score of 226.

Dominik Wolf is tied in 83rd after carding a 79. The freshman is 16-over and has a three-round score of 229.

The Skyhawks are sitting in fourth as they enter the final day of competition. Point shot a 294 and was 6-over par on day three. Keiser is in first at 9-under, Dalton State is currently in second at 7-under, and Bellevue University is in third at 5-over. Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Reinhardt is tied in 11th. John Houk of Tennessee Wesleyan represents the AAC as an individual and jumped seven positions on Thursday and is tied in third.

The final day of competition will begin tomorrow, May 20, at TPC Deere Run.
