Stevens ties school record; Point wins Maryville College Invite

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (March 15, 2022) – Cole Stevens tied the school record for lowest 18 holes score to help the No. 6/8 Point University men's golf team win the Maryville College Invite Tuesday afternoon.

Stevens dominated the course on Tuesday, shooting 8-under par (64) to win the tournament individually. Stevens tied the school record that Eric Wowor at the 2020 Point University Fall Invitational.

Stevens and Trevor Poole finished Monday's round tied in first place after shooting an even 72 on the day. Poole shot 4-over on Tuesday to finish tied in fifth place.

Jaden Saunders followed tied in 12th with rounds of 78 and 74. Dominik Wolf finished tied in 19th with rounds of 81 and 75 and Brendan Porter finished tied for 26th place with rounds of 80 and 79.

The Skyhawks won the tournament with a score of 591, finishing 17 strokes ahead of Faulkner, who finished in second. 

Up next, the Skyhawks compete in the Oldfield Classic in Okatie, S.C., March 28-29.
