Point Football opens AAC Play with a shutout over Kentucky Christian

GRAYSON, Ky. (Sept. 30, 2023) - The Point University Football returned to the field after a bye week to open Appalachian Athletic Conference play against Kentucky Christian University, where the Skyhawks cruised past the Knights in a 35-0 shutout.

Point's first offensive drive set the tone for the evening as D'Ontae Eatmon surged into the endzone for the six-yard touchdown, followed by a PAT from Matthew Moses. The Knights were able only to allow seven points in the first quarter. Point opened the second quarter with returning Quarterback Brenton White completing the six-yard touchdown pass to Javien Leeks, which helped the Skyhawks take the 14-0 lead. White completed three passes in a row to Bryant, which resulted in the third pass being a touchdown for the 21-0 lead. The defense of Point did not make it easy for the Knights as the quick three-and-out drive was vital to a significant loss on 3rd and Nine by Kemorion Larkin. Brenton White continued to grace the field with his open as he added to the Skyhawks' lead with a one-yard touchdown for the 28-0 lead at the half. The second half saw Point's defense continue to make drives challenging for the Knights as Kentucky Christian could march the field to keep their score at zero. Trey Turner was the key contributor for the final scoring drive as he rushed for 30 yards on the drive with his last rush resulting in a touchdown. The Skyhawks' defense completed the historic shutout, with the final score being 35-0.
