Rafael Jackson earns the SSAC Baseball Player of the Week award

WEST POINT, Ga. (Apr. 8, 2024) - The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the weekly awards where Rafael “Kenny” Jackson was named the SSAC Baseball Player of the Week.

The Junior from the Virgin Islands made a business trip to Florida this past weekend with the Baseball team as the Skyhawks took on Ave Maria University for a non-conference Weekend Series. Rafael Jackson totaled a .333 week at-bat and added a 1.1333 slugging percentage. Kenny Jackson finished with three home runs, including a grand slam in Game One versus Ave Maria and the nail in the coffin walk-off homer in Game Three. Jackson has been a newcomer for the Skyhawks who has made his immediate impact on the Baseball program and added a competitive spirit that is worth being around. Jackson’s natural athleticism mixed with his IQ on the field is a combination that cannot always be duplicated by many. Overall, Jackson leads the team with seven home runs on the season and 32 RBIs. Kenny Jackson is a player who is not afraid of the big moment once the lights come on and now has a weekly award to prove his impact on the team and in the SSAC. This is his first weekly honor.
