Multiple Point Volleyball Players earn AAC All-Conference Awards

WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 9, 2022) - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced all-conference awards ahead of the Conference tournament, which will begin on Thursday, Nov. 10, and end on Saturday, Nov. 12. Multiple players on the Point University volleyball team received honors in the following categories: AAC First Team All-Conference, AAC All-Freshman team, AAC Second Team All-Conference, Champions of Character and the All-Academic Team.

Paige Lowe earned herself a spot on the AAC First Team All-Conference and AAC All-Freshman team. The freshman out of Columbus, Ga., has started her collegiate career with numerous accolades, already winning AAC Setter of the Week twice this season along with breaking the school record for most assists in a single game with 59 assists against Union College on Oct. 15. Lowe can now add these honors to her historic season.

Jordan Palmer was recognized as a member of the AAC Second Team All-Conference. The Senior out of Statesboro, Ga., has anchored the Skyhawks on the defensive end and has consistently made her impact on the court for Point. Palmer was recognized as AAC Defender of the Week earlier this season and added her name to the record books to tie for fifth all-time for the most digs in a game with 34 against Brenau University on Oct. 4.

Whitney Ward was recognized as a member of the Champions of Character Team. The senior out of Jacksonville, Fla., adds another accolade in her name as she was recently recognized for surpassing 1,000 digs in her Skyhawk career. Ward’s leadership on and off the court makes it a no-brainer for her to receive this honor.
