Women’s tennis picks up win at home

VALLEY, Ala. (March 1, 2022) – The Point University women's tennis team hosted Central Alabama Community College Tuesday afternoon and defeated CACC 6-1.

Doubles

• Andrea Ovejero Fernandez and Sofia Villalobos kicked off the match with a 6-1 win on court one.
• Lisa McKenzie and Joanna Gallman followed with a 6-1 victory on court two to secure the doubles point.
• Tania Herrera and Sofia Gonzalez played a close set on court three but fell 4-6.

Singles

• Ovejero picked up the victory at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-3
• Villalobos picked up the victory at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-3
• McKenzie won at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-1
• Gallman won at No. 4 singles 6-3, 7-6 (0)
• Herrera fell at No. 5 singles 4-6, 4-6
• Gonzalez won at No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-3
