Women’s lacrosse falls to Aquinas

WEST POINT, Ga. (March 8, 2022) – The Point University women's lacrosse team hosted Aquinas (Mich.) Tuesday evening and fell to the Saints 17-2 inside River Bowl Stadium.

After several lightning delays that pushed the start time of Tuesday's contest back over an hour, the Saints opened the first quarter with three goals and added on five goals in the second quarter while not allowing the Skyhawks to find the back of the net in the first half.

In the second half, Aquinas scored the first four goals of the quarter, but Sydney Hanna got the Skyhawks on the scoreboard with an assist from Destinie Claggion and Kaelyn Geathers followed with her first goal of the season, making the score 12-2 entering the final period. The Saints added five goals in the fourth quarter and limited Point's offense from taking any shots in the final frame.

Geathers led Point's offense with three shots, two on goal, and five ground balls. Hanna and Claggion recorded one shot apiece. In goal, Kayla Bone made nine saves.

Up next, Point hosts Sienna Heights (Mich.) tomorrow, March 9, at 4 p.m. inside River Bowl Stadium.
