Women’s lacrosse falls to Webber

BABSON PARK, Fla. (Feb. 27, 2022) – The Point University women's lacrosse team opened their spring break trip to Florida Sunday afternoon by facing Webber International and fell to the Warriors 21-4.

The Warriors opened Sunday's game with eight goals in the first quarter and scored the first goal of the second quarter before Point's Kaelyn Geathers scored her first goal of the season with 4:36 left in the half. Webber scored two more goals in the second frame to enter halftime leading 11-1.

The Skyhawks were able to connect for two goals in the third quarter with Kelli Grimsley scoring her second goal of the season with 8:20 remaining, and Sydney Hanna connecting for the first goal of her career with 4:22 left in the frame. In the fourth period, Grimsley scored her second goal of the day, but the Warriors went on to score six goals to help secure the victory.

Webber outshot Point 42-13. Geathers led Point in shot attempts with five, two on goal, and Grimsley had four shot attempts, all on goal. Hanna followed with three shots, one on goal. In goal, Kayla Bone made 10 saves.
