Zetterblom’s top 10 finish highlights Skyhawks' trip to Florida

PALM HARBOR, Fla. (Sept. 28, 2021) – The Point University women's golf team competed in their second tournament of the fall season Monday and Tuesday, in Palm Harbor, Florida, in the Invite at Innisbrook.

The Skyhawks finished in 12th place in a field of 15 that featured several of the top teams in the NAIA. No. 2 Dalton State won the tournament and was followed in second place by No. 5 SCAD Savannah, and No. 3 Southeastern took third.

The tournament was a three-round tournament, with the first two rounds on Monday and the third round on Tuesday. After three rounds, Point finished with a tournament score of 1026, shootings rounds of 342, 349 and 335.

Freshman Fredricka Zetterblom led the Skyhawks, finishing in a four-way tie in 10th place, with a three-round score of 236. She was 17-over par for the tournament and shot rounds of 78, 83, and 75.

Following Zetterblom was Sophia Fousek, who shot a 251 and finished tied for 44th. Ana Aldana followed close behind Fousek, with a tournament score of 258 in 54th place. Abigail Evans finished in 71st place with a 282, and Peyton Woody rounded out the Skyhawks with a 292 in 73rd.

Up next, the Skyhawks will compete in the Redhawk Invitational in Athens, Alabama, Oct. 5-6. Point will wrap up their fall schedule Oct. 25-26 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Fall Championship in Adairsville, Georgia.
